Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Chris Pohl serves as senior vice president and chief human resources officer, leading the design and execution of talent strategies that enable achievement of OneAmerica Financial® enterprise objectives and priorities.

 

Pohl steers teams responsible for people initiatives, including nurturing culture; maturing development, training, and performance management capabilities; creating market-competitive pay and benefit programs; recruiting and onboarding new leaders and associates; and managing essential HR services.

 

Before bringing his passion for people to the human resources team in 2019, Pohl served for more than five years as chief audit executive of OneAmerica Financial, leading the internal audit and fraud risk management teams. Previously he was vice president of financial operations, responsible for corporate accounting, cost and budget, treasury, producer compensation and licensing, and separate accounts. Known as an energetic and enthusiastic leader, Pohl focuses on continuous improvement of the enterprise and exceptional service to all stakeholders.

 

Prior to joining OneAmerica Financial in 2010, Pohl served as a corporate finance executive at Anthem and a senior manager at Deloitte. He received his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan and holds a bachelor’s in accounting from Michigan State University. He is acknowledged by the Society for Human Resource Management as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and is also a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
