Why did you choose to spend your summer at OneAmerica? I chose to spend my summer at OneAmerica because of the community that is generated here both internally and externally. The people here are authentic and undeniably sincere; and those kind of spirits are few and far between in today’s society.
Advice for interns on their first day? Go in with an open mind. The information here is hard to digest and understand, so have an eagerness to learn and understand the environment that you are going to be working in.
Describe OneAmerica culture in one word: Community
Favorite thing about working at OneAmerica: The ability to learn about the business and those who work for the enterprise through a number of diverse, collaborative tasks.
Best piece of advice you were given during your internship? Find purpose in your work rather than just completing your tasks and checking them off your list. Tie your work into what the greater goal is for the company.
What about your experience at OneAmerica would interest you in a future career here? The people. There is something to be said about how people care about what’s going on in and outside of work. Seeing co-workers rally around people that are going through life changes is something that is important to me.
If your life had a theme song, what would it be? "Waiting on the World to Change" by John Mayer
Favorite sports team: Chicago Cubs
Favorite place you’ve traveled: Costa Rica; I studied abroad there last summer!
