OneAmerica appoints new general agents in three states

Indianapolis (Feb. 29, 2012) – American United Life Insurance Company® (AUL), a OneAmerica company, has appointed three new general agents to expand its national distribution network for its extensive menu of financial products for individuals, families and small businesses. Together, these general agencies currently employ 33 financial professionals, but plan to add 85 over the next three years.

The new general agents are:
• James Chapel of FMC Financial Group in Newport Beach, Calif.
Chapel started selling insurance as a career agent in 1978 and in 1981 founded J.F. Chapel and Associates Insurance Services with offices in Los Angeles and Orange County. He later founded Western United Insurance Company, a property and casualty agency specializing in automobile insurance, growing that agency from $3.2 million in direct written premium in 1991 to more than $60 million in 1994.
Chapel is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA), the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) and the National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU).
FMC Financial Group currently has 13 agents on staff, but plans to recruit an additional 25 professionals to the firm in the next two years.
• William Chesney of OneLegacy Financial Group LLC in Bridgewater, N.J.
Previously, Chesney was a vice president for AXA Equitable where he twice received honors for performing in the top 10 of AXA management and was a six-time recipient of an award given for meeting or exceeding recruiting, production, development and agent retention goals. He is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).
OneLegacy Financial Group currently has 11 agents on staff, but Chesney says he plans to recruit 30 professionals to the firm in the next two years.
• Brian Cook of Kentucky Blue Blood Financial Group in Lexington, Ky.
Cook is a graduate of Asbury University. He is a Life Underwriters Training Council fellow (LUTCF) and has been actively involved with the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) board in Kentucky. He holds several industry achievement awards from General Agents and Managers Association (GAMA) for sales and unit production.
Kentucky Blue Blood Financial Group currently has nine agents on staff, but Cook says he plans to recruit an additional 30 professionals to the firm in the next three years.
