For Immediate Release:
Indianapolis (Nov. 24, 2008) – The employees of the Retirement Services division at American United Life Insurance Company® (AUL), a OneAmerica company, have teamed up with Goldleaf Partners to launch an exclusive program to help retirement advisors grow their business while breaking into the 403(b) market.
The new program will effectively work with advisors to provide knowledge, support and tools to nonprofit plan sponsors in time for the 2009 IRS regulations deadline. Additionally, the program will offer opportunities for advisors looking to add 403(b) plans to their sales platform.
“This is a tremendous, win-win opportunity for our advisors and nonprofit clients,” said Bill Yoerger, senior vice president for AUL Retirement Services. “It will help nonprofit employers understand the new IRS rules and requirements while giving our advisors a chance to design practical steps to successfully implement a strong and lasting relationship with these clients.”
The program consists of modules that help the advisor understand and execute a scaleable 403(b) sales process. Steps include holding an initial meeting, compiling and reviewing gathered information, presenting findings and recommendations to the client and conducting regular, post-sale follow-up communication.
“As employers rush to comply with the new regulations, many issues and solutions exist, including a lack of involvement and vender oversight, compliance problems and general misunderstandings about the new requirements and what needs to happen in short order. For many nonprofits, this is presenting a huge and costly administrative burden,” said Michael King, co-president and co-founder of Goldleaf Partners. “By working together with AUL Retirement Services, we can empower the advisor with knowledge that can help nonprofit organizations save a lot of time and money, while reducing stresses associated with becoming compliant for 2009.”
