Vice president of claims

As vice president of claims, Judy VerPlanck-Elliott is responsible for ensuring that all claims are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Under her direction, the claims department strikes a delicate balance between personal one-on-one service and technology that allows for accurate and promptly delivered reimbursements. 

Her staff possesses a broad range of experience in handling stop loss insurance claims for both fully insured and self-funded health plans. VerPlanck-Elliott sees that the claims department works closely with the administration, sales and underwriting departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

VerPlanck-Elliott  joined R.E. Moulton in 1993 as manager of the claims department. Prior to joining the firm, she was excess claims manager at Northshore International Insurance where she managed specific and aggregate stop loss insurance claims on behalf of issuing carriers and reinsurers. She also spent 10 years at the Prudential Insurance Company where she was a claims consultant responsible for the quality, review, training and technical support of a 60-person staff. VerPlanck-Elliott holds a degree in fine arts from the Art Institute of Boston.
